Este fue mi tercer cuadro. La historia es que yo tenía un refugio en Francia (en los Pirineos) donde los caballos pastaban a escasos 5 metros de mi, y me gustaba pasar allí largas temporadas solo, sobretodo en invierno practicando esquí.Una noche de tormenta de nieve oí a los caballos relinchar, eran las 2 de la madrugada, me levanté, me vestí y me abrigué y fui a hacerles unas cuantas fotos. Elegí esta para el óleo de mi tercer trabajo.....

The story is that I had a refuge in France (the Pyrenees) where horses grazed just 5 meters from me, and I liked spend long periods alone, practicing mostly in the winter skiing.A snowstorm night I heard the horses neighing, were the 2 am, got up, got dressed, and coat and went to make a few photos. Pese a que esta vista es parcialmente la que disfruto desde mi estudio, está demasiado lejos para advertir todos los detalles. Es por eso que hice esta fotografía. Tiempo invertido, un par de horas.....

Sesión 1 - Una vez en el estudio, tuve que "adecuar" la fotografía al tamaño de la tela del óleo deseado por mi cliente (100 x 45 cm., que con el marco colocado quedará una pieza de 125 x 70 cm.). Una hora....

Sesión 2 - Los primeros trazos sobre la tela, reproduciendo a escala la parte de la fotografía que elegimos...... Una hora.

Sesión 3 - Manchado. Practicamente, solo se trata de trementina pura y algo de color. En esta fase determino los elementos que compondrán la obra y su color: bosque verde, montaña gris, casas blancas, etc etc. Dos horas.

Sesión 6 - Determinación de perfiles. (mojado sobre mojado, pues estoy utilizando ya una combinación de 40 % de trementina pura y 60 % de aceite de lino mas color). Una hora.

Sesión 7 - se dota a los prados de un color mas acorde con la realidad. Con toda seguridad, no es definitivo. Una hora.

Sesión 8 - La montraña de Montserrat "va apareciendo". Los perfiles empiezan a ser visibles desde lejos. Detrás del bosque de la izquierda se aprecia la neblina.... Una hora.

Sesión 9 - Montserrat (la montaña) aparece mucho mas nítida. los bosques cobran vida, los edificios reclaman su protagonismo, el puente sobre el ferrocarril y el puente sobre la carretera son perfectamente visibles.... los matorrales ya se distinguen, los campos van diferenciándose......

10 horas.

Sesión 10 - El sol hace acto de preséncia....iluminando ligeramente la montaña, las casas, los árboles y los campos. El camino que pasa junto al bosque va apareciendo... Las amapolas y el primer campo algo seco nos dicen que estamos en verano....y el cielo ha cobrado la vida que le corresponde...... diez horas.

Sesión 11 - Ligeros toques y retoques de "detalles" quizás imperceptibles, pero no para mi. Mientras una obra está en posesión del autor, uno de los momentos mas difíciles es determinar "cuando está terminada", al menos para mi. Una hora.

Sesión 12 y última - Cuatro "toques" mas y decido que el cuadro está terminado. Una hora.
